How can you help? - Donate to WCF!

It is the goal of the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation to save the remaining wild chimpanzees, and to protect the forests in which they live. To this end, WCF is working to educate local African populations about the plight of the chimpanzees through direct action, dramatic presentations, written materials, and video presentations. Educational outreach is also directed at schools in Africa and around the world.

All donations are gratefully received and will go into our projects (sensitization measures and biomonitoring).

All funds are strictly regulated, audited, and a full report is made yearly. Your donation is allowed against tax. We are going to send you a contribution receipt immediately.

Thank you!

female chimpanzee: Tita

Tita (born 1975).

The mother of Taboo and Téré and adopted mother of Totem died in September 2000 together with her infant Téré. TITA had been best friend with YUCCA. She was the only female in the group who adopted a dependent offspring a long time before weaning age while nursing her own offspring at the same time. While at the beginning we thought that her two sons were twins, genetic fingerprinting later revealed that Totem was in fact adopted. TITA had an older daughter, TOSHA, who emigrated in 1997.
