Meet our formidable combined team representing the frontlines of conservation in Côte d’Ivoire’s largest forest block!
Eco-guards (since 2017): Les Gardiens De La Forêt
This dedicated unit has worked tirelessly deep within the Cavally Nature Reserve. Since 2017, their relentless patrol efforts successfully cleared the reserve of major illegal exploitation. Their exceptional commitment was directly responsible for the critical victory of Cavally’s formal reclassification as a full Nature Reserve in 2023.
Eco-guides (since 2012): Les Wild Chimps
For over a decade, our experienced eco-guides in Taï National Park have been bridging the gap between conservation and the community. By leading visitors through this incredible World Heritage site, they raise essential awareness, promote sustainable ecotourism, and actively contribute to the daily protection of the park and its critically endangered western chimpanzee population.
These two teams are joining forces for the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Challenge, an annual competition bringing together rangers from across Africa. Their ultimate trial? An exhausting 21 km race carrying a 22 kg backpack!
Today, we invite you to stand behind their vital mission. Your support directly helps supply essential field equipment, technical gear, and operational supplies that keep our guardians safe and effective in the forest. Until September 30, every donation is doubled! Please click on the link to learn more: https://wildlife.rangerchallenge.org/campaigns/wild-chimpanzee-foundation-2026
