Support law enforcement

Together with the national authority the Office Ivoirien des Parcs et Réserves (OIPR), the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation has been supporting law enforcement activities in Taï National Park and Cavally Nature Reserve which was previoulsy the Cavally Classified Forest. We support community ecoguards and ecoguides patrols that collect SMART data and report monitoring results to the authorities, with detailed results of illegal human activities and animal densities, so that law enforcement patrols can be most efficient.

In addition, we support independent monitoring of forest management, law enforcement and procedures, contributing to transparency and good governance, implemented with our key local partner the NGO NOFNA (Notre Forêt Notre Avenir) and the AGIR network.
